By getting to understand my clothing style, body type, skin tone, and overall lifestyle, I've managed to learn what I officially do and do not need in my closet. I'm finished with the whole over-accumulating phase in my life, and have been buying very thoughtfully the past couple of years. Having been a designer in the fashion industry for 7+ years, I've been around more clothing samples and fabric/ dye swatches than most; because of that exposure, I have a high standard for color and fabric quality in the clothing I wear. Most importantly, each piece must be made with intention and integrity; and has to feel comfortable, and be made to last. It's essential that I'm consciously investing in each purchase, even if it's something as simple as a basic tee

Since life has me in Los Angeles right now, it's important that my clothing matches my casual lifestyle here and can transition with the California weather throughout the rest of the year. Lou & Grey matches all of the criteria above. Their styles sway toward attention to detail in texture, comfort, silhouette, and proper fit rather than fleeting trends––so I know whatever I buy from them will be worn for years. This sort of intentional design (down to the tags) that Lou & Grey delivers makes me feel proud of what I'm wearing.

Their newest pieces are easy to wear and have that clean, fresh feeling––getting me very excited for the arrival of spring! One of the many things I love about spring is cleaning out my winter closet and shopping for new crisp white shirts, cotton dresses, and denim

Here are some key words I'm mindful of when shopping for new clothing

• investment
fabric quality
• rich in color
• soft hand feel
• breathable
• comfortable
• timeless
• transitional
• refreshing
staple item

Integrating these simple standards into your every day clothing has been a trick of mine for feeling more comfortable, special, and beautiful on the inside and out.

After taking the time to shop on the Lou & Grey site and at my closest Lou & Grey store, I was able to decide on some fresh new basics for spring. All of these pieces are super comfortable and can easily transition from day into night. They work perfectly whether your managing a rushed workday, or celebrating with family and friends on the weekend.

I love wearing neutrals so I mostly chose a mixture of white, black, blue, and cream. I couldn't resist a little pop of color though, so I went with this cotton off-the-shoulder dress that just seems to float; and honestly, makes me feel really pretty! I can't wait to wear it during the daytime in Venice Beach, or at night on a date with Andrew.
