at home with 5 points

Something so great about living in our part of this city is the walkability to local beach-town restaurants, bars, and artisan shops. A nearby Venice street called Abbot Kinney is full of them, and it's where I discovered a new pop-up called 5 Points. When you're in a constant sea of creative start-ups it can be hard for new shops to stand out among the crowd, but this one won me over rather quickly. 5 Points is inspired by five words: make, say, share, live, and keep. The shop holds an eclectic mix of home-wares, jewelry, and other accessories all crafted by local makers, with the intention of creating around one of these points.

I went home with some of their pieces, and spent my Saturday morning deciding each one's place throughout our loft. I love that the items are neutral and soft in color, and some make for great storage which is always a bonus when living in a small space. I especially loved their gorgeous ceramic bowls which are perfect for things like air plants, candles, flowers, paint brushes, and lotions. I placed a pretty slate gray one at my bedside to hold my night-time face creams––this helps me remember to actually use them! And their motivational prints not only look good on the wall but serve as helpful reminders for us creative thinkers. Which shops inspire and impact you?
